Absolutely! As a girl growing up in Britain in the 70s and 80s, the clearest example of a woman with power I saw was Margaret Thatcher - a woman who did nothing for other women, who got where she was by outdoing her male peers in the traditionally masculine traits of ruthlessness and brutality. To me, she represents the opposite of female emancipation - she represents internalised misogyny working to uphold the patriarchy.

This is honestly part of why no woman president has been elected in the U.S. yet. They need to run on a campaign as a woman, not a “strong woman acting like a man”
