I’ve traveled to Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt. First time was in 1970 on my winter break from the University of Vienna. My uncle Iskander graduated from AUB, and also his son Fuad. I have relatives in Lebanon and many other countries. My cousin Dr William Haddad, PhD, was a professor of Middle East and Ottoman History at the University of California. Bill was my hero and was fluent in Arabic and my tour guide in the Middle East.
